Judge Diane Pincus - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Diane Pincus (Ret.) was a judge for the Vicinage 8 Superior Court in Middlesex County in New Jersey. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jim McGreevey in 2003 and reappointed for tenure in 2010.

During her judicial tenure, Pincus held assignments in the Civil Division (2003 to 2005 and 2008 to 2010), the Family Division (2005 to 2008), and the Criminal Division (beginning in 2010).

At the time of her appointment, she was working as deputy counsel in Middlesex County, a position she had briefly held in 2003. Before that, Pincus was a sole practitioner in her own private practice (1997 to 2002), during which time she also acted as a special discovery master.

Her legal career also included practicing as of counsel in the Benjamin Bucca Law Office (1994 to 1996) and a partner in the law firm of Pincus & Gordon (1989 to 1992). In addition, Picus spent eight years as an assistant prosecutor with the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office (1981 to 1989).

Pincus received a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in 1977. She went on to complete a J.D. at Rutgers Law School in 1980.
