The Hon. Donna L. Stashyn (Ret.) served as a judge for the Solano County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007.
Stashyn has been assigned to the Traffic Division/Adult Truancy Court as well as the Juvenile Division and the Appellate Panel. She was also elected to serve as the Assistant Presiding Judge and the Presiding Judge of the Court.
Prior to her appointment, Stashyn was a court commissioner for the Solano County Superior Court, a position to which she was named in 2005. Before that, she spent time as a deputy district attorney for the Solano County District Attorney’s Office (1994 to 2005).
Stashyn earned a B.A. from Boston College. She then completed a J.D. at Golden Gate University School of Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1991.
After graduating from law school, Stashyn began her legal career as a deputy district attorney with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. She served in that capacity until 1993, at which time she entered into private practice as an associate at Haims, Johnson, MacGowan, and McInerney.
