Biography

Hon. Ellen Beth Mandeltort is an associate judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. She was elected to the Circuit Court by the Cook County Circuit judges in 2008.


While on the bench, Mandeltort has held an assignment in the Third Municipal District of the Municipal Department.


Prior to joining the bench, she had served as a deputy attorney general with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office since 2003. During her tenure there, she held an assignment in the Criminal Justice Division. Mandeltort began her legal career as an assistant state’s attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in 1985. She rose through the ranks to become a supervisor there in 1998.


She received the Excellence in the Judiciary Award from the Northwest Suburban Bar Association in 2016.
