Judge Evan G. Frayman - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Evan Frayman is a judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was elected to the bench on August 18, 2020.

The 6th Judicial Circuit encompasses Pasco County and Pinellas County. Frayman has held assignments in Pinellas County, presiding over cases in the Family Division.

Prior to his election, Frayman was an assistant public defender with the Office of the Public Defender for the 6th Judicial Circuit in New Port Richey, supplementing his service with his own private civil litigation firm, Evan Frayman, P.A., in Clearwater. Before that, he served as general counsel for Liberty Staffing USA (2016 to 2018) and practiced as of counsel in the Law Office of Robert Eckard & Associates (2016 to 2018).

Frayman received an A.B. in philosophy and education from Dartmouth College in 1992. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law in 1995. As a law student, Frayman worked as a summer associate at Jenner & Block (1993 to 1995).

After graduating from law school, Frayman entered into private practice. He started as an associate at White & Case (1995 to 1996) and Hedrick, Dewberry & Regan (1996 to 1998). He then became a senior associate at Gobelman & Love. Frayman worked in that capacity for two years, eventually leaving when he was hired as assistant general counsel at Kforce, Inc. Then, in 2002, Frayman opened his own private practice as a sole practitioner. He worked in that capacity until 2003, at which time he joined Harper, Kynes, Geller, Greenleaf & Frayman, P.A. His areas of practice included business litigation, family law, health law, employment law, medical malpractice defense, commercial litigation, and Title VII, ADA, and ERISA litigation.

His memberships have included the Clearwater Bar Association (treasurer), the Clearwater Bar Foundation (former trustee), the East Pasco Bar Association, the West Pasco Bar Association, and the St. Petersburg Bar Association. He is a certified Family Mediator and Circuit Civil Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court.

From a civic standpoint, Frayman has been involved with the Rotary Club of Dunedin Waterside (treasurer and past president), the Suncoast Tiger Bay Club (board member), and Temple B’nai Israel (past president). He is also a member of Leadership Pinellas, Class of 2006.

Frayman and his wife, Ricki, have two daughters.
