Judge Jeffrey Keddie: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Jeffrey Keddie is a commissioner for the Cowlitz County Superior Court in Washington. He joined the bench in 2017 as a part-time court commissioner.

During that same time, Keddie has sat as a part-time pro tem judge for the Cowlitz County Superior Court and has presided over criminal and civil dockets.

He received a B.A. in history from the University of Washington in 2005. Keddie then completed a J.D. at Seattle University School of Law in 2009.

After law school, he began his legal career as a staff attorney and IT Strategist at Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida. Then, in 2013, Keddie became a staff attorney at Northwest Justice Project in Longview. As such, he assists victims of domestic violence with family legal matters. In addition to his responsibilities there, he also handles health and income maintenance cases through a partnership with the Cowlitz Family Health Center.

Keddie has taught Poverty and the Law as an adjunct professor of law at Lewis & Clark College since 2019.

He graduated from Milwaukee High School of the Arts.
