Biography

The Hon. Jill S. Polk is a judge for the Schenectady County Family Court in the Fourth Judicial District of New York. She was elected to the Family Court bench in 2015.

She is a registered Democrat.

Judge Polk received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1984. She went on to earn a J.D. from Albany Law School.

Prior to her election to the bench, Polk had served as a senior attorney with the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct since 2008. Before joining the Commission, she worked as a senior assistant public defender in Schenectady County for four years.

Her other legal experience includes serving as a supervising attorney with the Legal Aid Society and as a senior court attorney for the Otsego County Family Court.
