Biography

Hon. Karen M. Miller is a judge for the 15th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Palm Beach County. She was elected to the bench in 2002.

Miller has presided in the Civil, Family, and Probate Divisions.

Prior to her election, Miller was legal counsel to Dorothy Wilken, the Palm Beach County Clerk. Before that, she served as chief legal counsel at the A.G. Holley State Hospital, where she handled medical malpractice cases.

She received a bachelor's degree in European history from Bard College. Miller then completed a J.D. at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law.

After graduating from law school, Miller began her legal career as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. She then joined the Florida Department of Children and Families in 1989, where she worked as a health attorney until quickly becoming the acting district legal counsel (1990) and district legal counsel (1991). As such, Miller was tasked with overseeing the entire legal department at the Department of Children and Families. She remained there until 1997.

Miller was born in Rochester, New York.
