Biography

Hon. Kerry E. Higgins is a judge for the Vicinage 9 Superior Court in Monmouth County in New Jersey. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Phil Murphy in 2021.

Higgins has held an assignment in the Civil Division in Monmouth County.

At the time of her appointment, she was a partner in the Red Bank law firm of McKenna, DuPont, Higgins & Stone, PC (now McKenna, Dupont, Stone & Washburne), where she had practiced since 1997. In addition to her private practice, Higgins acted as a municipal attorney for the Borough of Freehold for twenty-five years.

Before joining the firm, she worked as an attorney in the law firms of Cerrato, Dawes, Collins, Saker & Brown (1992 to 1997) and Cerrato, O’Connor, Saker & Collins (1986 to 1992).

Higgins received a B.A. in political science and government from Villanova University. She went on to complete a J.D. at Villanova University, Charles Widger School of Law in 1981.
