Judge Kevin R. Connelly - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Kevin R. Connelly is an associate justice for the Plymouth County Probate and Family Court in Massachusetts. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Charlie Baker on November 16, 2016, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Catherine P. Sabaitis.

Connelly began his judicial career as an associate justice of the Suffolk County Probate and Family Court, a position to which he was selected by former Governor Deval Patrick in 2013.

Prior to his appointment, Connelly worked as an attorney in private practice, specializing in domestic relations matters. He started as an associate at White, Inker & Aronson, rising through the ranks to become a partner in 2000. Then, in 2004, he joined Sally & Fitch, where he helped develop their family law practice.

Connelly earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston College in 1989. He then completed a J.D. at New England Law in 1993.

His memberships have included the Child Support Guidelines Task Force as well as the Committee for Civility & Professionalism.

Connelly was born and raised in Kingston, Massachusetts.
