Judge Kurt E. Hitzemann: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Kurt E. Hitzemann is a judge for the Hernando County Court in Florida. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jeb Bush in 2005.

Prior to his appointment, Hitzemann was an assistant county attorney for the Hernando County Attorney’s Office, a position to which he was named in 2001.

Hitzemann earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and aquatic science from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, in 1985. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1994. He was admitted to the State Bar of Florida in 1998.
