Judge Larry G. Luna - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Larry G. Luna (Ret.) served as an associate judge for the 38th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri. He was elected to the bench on November 7, 2006, and re-elected in 2010 and 2014.

Luna earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1970. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1973.

After graduating from law school, Luna began his legal career as the Prosecuting Attorney for the Ozark County Prosecutor’s Office. He served in that capacity until 1980, at which time he entered into private practice. While in private practice, Luna received special recognition from Legal Services of Southwest Missouri for his volunteer work representing indigent clients.

His memberships have included the Christian County Bar Association, the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Missouri Association of Associate and Probate Judges. He has also been involved with the Juvenile Courts & Laws Committee of the Family Section of the Missouri Bar.

Luna and his wife, Laurie, reside in Christian County. They have three children.

He is registered as a Republican.
