Judge Leon D. Stenz - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Leon D. Stenz is a judge for the Forest County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He was elected to the bench in 2008 and re-elected in 2014 and 2020.

Prior to his election, Stenz was the District Attorney for Forest County, a position to which he was named in 1999.

Stenz earned a bachelor’s degree from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1976. He then completed a J.D. at Marquette University Law School in 1983.

After graduating from law school, Stenz entered into private practice. He supplemented his practice with service as the City Attorney for the City of Crandon (1987 to 1999).
