Judge Marcia Del Rey: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Marcia Del Rey is a judge for the 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Miami-Dade County. She was elected to the bench in 2016.

Del Rey has held an assignment in the Family Division.

She received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Miami in 2001. Del Rey then worked as an intern in the Family Division of the 11th Judicial Circuit Court before completing a J.D. at Florida International University College of Law in 2005.

After graduating from law school, Del Rey entered into solo practice, where she remained until her election to the bench. During that time, she handled cases involving child support, divorce, child custody, adoption, paternity, and domestic abuse.

Del Rey served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and as guardian ad litem for the ARISE program. Her other volunteer efforts have included Radio Lollipop at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, Amigos for Kids, and Friends of St. Jude Miami.
