Judge Marco A. Roldan - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Marco A. Roldan is a judge for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mel Carnahan on September 28, 1999.

Prior to his appointment, Roldan was the first Drug Court Commissioner for the 16th Circuit Court, a position to which he was named in 1996.

Roldan earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and criminal justice administration from Central Missouri State University in 1979. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1983.

After graduating from law school, Roldan began his legal career as an assistant public defender with the Jackson County Public Defender’s Office. Later, he entered into private practice, working as an associate at deVries & Associates.

His memberships have included the Missouri Bar Foundation and the Missouri Supreme Court Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Roldan served as a police officer with the City of Overland Park Police Department in Kansas. He attends Summit Woods Baptist Church.
