Judge Matthew R. Bever - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Matthew R. Bever is a magistrate for the Canyon County Magistrate Court in Idaho. He was appointed to the bench by the 3rd Judicial District Magistrates Commission in 2018, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. F. Randall Kline.

Prior to his appointment, Bever was a deputy prosecuting attorney for the Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. During his tenure there, he held assignments as Chief of the Felony Unit, supplementing his service by teaching business law at the College of Western Idaho.

Bever earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Central Washington University in 2004. He then completed a J.D. at Regent University School of Law in 2007.
