Judge Micah P. Cox: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Micah P. Cox is a magistrate for the Starke County Circuit Court in Indiana. He was appointed to the bench by the Hon. Kim Hall on July 21, 2021.

Prior to his appointment, Cox worked as a chief deputy prosecutor with the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office (2019 to 2021). Before that, he prosecuted major felony jury trials as a deputy prosecutor assigned to the County Metro Homicide Unit of the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office (2011 to 2019).

Cox received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee. He went on to complete a J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law. Cox was admitted to practice in Indiana in 2010.

He and his wife, Rachel, have one son. The family resides in Starke County.
