Biography

The Hon. Michael S. Deen is a judge for the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Ron DeSantis on December 2, 2021, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Donald A. Myers, Jr.

The 9th Judicial Circuit encompasses Osceola County and Orange County. Deen has held assignments in Orange County, presiding over cases in the Civil Division and the Domestic Relations Division.

Prior to his appointment, Deen was a judge for the Orange County Court, a position to which he was named in 2021. Before that, he spent nine years as an assistant state attorney in the Office of the State Attorney for the 9th Judicial Circuit.

Deen earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Samford University in 2007. He then completed a J.D. at Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, in 2012.

His memberships have included the Orange County Bar Association, the Osceola County Bar Association, and the Tiger Bay Club of Central Florida. He also sat on the Juvenile Assessment Center Advisory Board (vice president) and the Teen Court Advisory Board.

He was a resident of Winter Park, Florida, at the time of his appointment.
