Judge Misty Watson - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Misty Watson is a probate court deputy commissioner for the 21st Judicial Circuit Court (Division 67) of Missouri. She was appointed to the bench in 2019.

The 21st Judicial Circuit includes St. Louis County.

Prior to her appointment, she was a shareholder and Executive Committee member at Danna McKitrick, P.C., where she had practiced since 2007. Before that, she was an associate at Glick Finley, LLC (2006 to 2007). Watson gained experience in trusts, estates, guardianships, and special needs trusts.

Watson received a bachelor’s degree in social work from East Central University in 2002. She then worked as an adoption specialist with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (2001 to 2003) before completing a J.D. (2006) and an LL.M. (2011) in taxation at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law.

She was admitted to practice in Missouri (2006) and Illinois (2007).

Watson is the recipient of the Publico Pro Bono Award from the Missouri Bar (2019) and the John R. Essner Award for pro bono work through Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. She was also recognized as the Washington University School of Law Women’s Law Caucus International Women’s Day 2013 Celebration Honoree.

Watson attended Tecumseh High School.
