Judge Paul G. Czisny - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Paul G. Czisny (Ret.) served as a judge for the Fond du Lac County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. Czisny was appointed to the bench by Governor Tony Evers on March 10, 2021, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Robert Wirtz.

Prior to his appointment, Czisny was a sole practitioner in his own private practice, a law firm he opened in 2008. In that capacity, he specialized in criminal defense matters. Before that, he spent time as an assistant state public defender for the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office.

Czisny earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1984.

His memberships have included the Fond du Lac County Board of Ethics and the Fond du Lac County Board of Canvass. He has also been involved with Broken Bread Food Pantry.

He is registered as a Democrat.
