Judge Paul R. Davis: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Judge Paul R. Davis (Ret.) served as a judge for the 200th District Court in Travis County, Texas. Davis initially joined the bench in 1983 and retired in 2004. He currently serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and private judge as well as a visiting judge for the Texas State Courts.


Before joining the bench, Davis worked as an attorney in private practice, specializing in family law matters. He is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.


Davis earned a B.A. from the University of Tulsa in 1967. Then, in 1970, he completed a J.D. at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.


His memberships have included the Board of the Texas Center for the Judiciary as well as the State Bar of Texas Judicial Sections Executive Committee and Ethics Committee. He is a recipient of the Texas Centers Judicial Excellence Through Education Award, Award of Excellence for Outstanding Service to the Judiciary, and Exemplary Article Award.
