Biography

The Hon. Paul V. Morgan, Jr. is an acting justice for the Rensselaer County Supreme Court in the Third Judicial District of New York. Two years before his designation to the bench by Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence K. Marks in 2016, Morgan was elected to the Rensselaer County Surrogate’s Court.


Morgan earned a B.S. from Union College in 1987. He then completed a J.D. at Albany Law School in 1990.


Prior to his election to the bench, Morgan served as chief clerk for the Rensselaer County Surrogate’s Court for eighteen years. He was also associate counsel to the New York State Senate.


He has taught as an adjunct professor at Albany Law School and the State University of New York at Albany.
