Biography

Hon. Rhonda K. Forsberg is a judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Steve Sisolak in 2019.

Forsberg received a B.S. in psychology from the University of Utah in 1995. She went on to earn a J.D. from the University of Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law in 2005.

Before obtaining her law degree, she had worked in the insurance industry for twenty years. She worked for The Leavitt Insurance Agency while in law school. Later, she also served a clerkship with Radford J. Smith, Chartered.

Forsberg remained with Radford J. Smith, Chartered after obtaining her law degree. Then, in 2008, she went into solo practice at her own law firm. Her areas of practice included divorce, custody, guardianship, adoptions, child support, pre-and post-nuptial agreements, and juvenile delinquency.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Forsberg was serving as a pro tem hearing master for the domestic violence/TPO and family discovery courts.

While on the bench, she has presided on the Family Court.

Her committee memberships have included the Bench/Bar Committee, Court Technology Committee, Settlement Master’s Program, and chairperson for the Outsource Provider List Committee.

From a civic standpoint, Forsberg served on the Board of Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and was a volunteer for the “Big Search”, which seeks to locate missing children.

She was born in Castro Valley, California, and is the youngest of five children.
