Judge Robert L. Driessen - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Robert L. Driessen is a commissioner for the San Bernardino County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench on August 16, 2021, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Guy A. Bovée to a judgeship.

Prior to his appointment, Driessen was judicial staff counsel with the San Bernardino County Superior Court, a position to which he was named in 2015. Before that, he was the owner of the Law Offices of Robert L. Driessen (2010 to 2015). During this time, Driessen also served as a deputy staff judge advocate for the United States Air Force Reserve.

Driessen earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999. He then completed a J.D. at the William and Mary Law School in 2005. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2006.

After graduating from law school, Driessen entered into private practice, working as a litigation associate at Provonost, Normandin, Bergh & Dawe. He spent the next year advising corporate clients on creditor rights, real estate, and banking issues before becoming a deputy district attorney for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office in 2007. Then, in 2009, Driessen returned to private practice. He joined Houser & Allison as a litigation associate, specializing in real estate matters involving TILA, HOEPA, RESPA, and foreclosures.
