Biography

The Hon. Scott P. Bittner is a judge for the Somerset County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench on November 3, 2015.


Prior to his election, Bittner was an attorney in private practice, working at Fike, Cascio & Boose since 1997. He also spent time as a solicitor for the Conemaugh Township Area School District, the Lincoln Township Municipal Authority, the Jennerstown Municipal Water Authority, the Boswell Borough Municipal Authority, and the Berlin Borough Municipal Authority.


Bittner earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law in 1997.


His memberships have included the Jenner Rod and Gun Club, the Jenner Community Sportsmen’s Club, the New Baltimore Sportsman’s Club, the Greater Ferndale Sportsmen’s Club, the Boswell Athletic and Sportsmen’s Association, the Somerset County Conservancy, and the Historical-Genealogical Society of Somerset County. He also sat on the Board of Sonrise Counseling Ministries and the Board of the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.
