Judge Stephen P. Gildner: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Stephen P. Gildner (Ret.) served as a judge for the Kern County Superior Court in California. Gildner was appointed to the bench in 1990. He retired in 2010.

Over the course of his judicial career, Gildner was publicly admonished by the California Commission on Judicial Performance in 2005. The admonishment states that Gildner failed to ensure the rights of defendants and abused his authority when he issued bench warrants without lawful authority and improperly remanded defendants.

Gildner earned a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1977.
