Biography

Hon. Tammi L. Hayward is a judge for the Clayton County State Court in Georgia. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Nathan Deal on April 19, 2016 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Morris E. Braswell (Ret.).


At the time of her appointment, Hayward was presiding as an associate magistrate for the Clayton County Magistrate Court, having joined its bench in 2012. She also sat by designation on the Superior Court.


Before that, she worked briefly as a contract compliance officer for the State of Georgia (2012).


Hayward received a B.S. in international relations and affairs from Georgetown University in 1991. She went on to complete a J.D. at Emory University School of Law in 1995.


She and her husband, Marty, resided in Jonesboro with their two children at the time of her appointment.
