Judge Trisha J. Hirashima: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Trisha J. Hirashima is a commissioner for the Placer County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench in 2021, filling a part-time position. Hirashima holds the distinction of being the first Asian-American woman to serve as a judicial officer in the history of the Court.

During her judicial tenure, she has presided over civil, family support, and probate matters.

Prior to her appointment, Hirashima was a senior legal research attorney for the Superior Court in Placer County, having been promoted to the position in 2016. She continued to work in that capacity in addition to sitting as a commissioner. Hirashima began there as a legal research attorney in 2011. Before that, Hirashima was an associate in the Law Office of Robert A. Huddleston and Huddleston & Sipos, LLP.

She received a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. Hirashima went on to complete a J.D. at the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2004. She also holds a Public Interest Law Certificate from the University of California, Davis School of Law (2004).

At the time of her appointment, Hirashima resided in Granite Bay, California.
