Judge Victoria M. Argento - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Victoria M. Argento is an Acting Justice of the Monroe County Supreme Court in the Seventh Judicial District of New York. She was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2011. Justice Argento was originally elected in 2011 to serve as a judge for the Monroe County Court in the Seventh Judicial District. Before joining the County Court, Justice Argento had served as town justice for the East Rochester Town Court in New York from 2002 to 2010.

She is a registered Republican.

Justice Argento received her B.A. from St. John Fisher College in 1984. She went on to earn her J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1987.

Argento began her legal career in private practice in 1998.

She left the private sector in 2000 to briefly work as a principal law clerk for the late Hon. Elma Bellini (deceased). Then, in 2001, Argento returned to private practice, where she would remain until her election to the County Court.

Justice Argento has served as a volunteer for the Rochester Teen Court and has also served as a guest speaker at the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation.

She was an advisory council member for the Center for Dispute Settlement and on the board of directors for the Maplewood Neighborhood Association.

She was named the Woman of the Year by the Sons of Italy in 2000 and was honored by the East Rochester Youth Baseball in 2010 for her 30 years of service with their organization. In 2018, Justice Argento received the Women of Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian American Community Center.

Justice Argento, who was born and raised in the Rochester area, served as an East Rochester Little League Coach from 1980 to 2009. At the time of her election to the County Court, she resided in East Rochester with her husband.
