Biography

The Hon. William D. Sites is a judge for the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was elected to the bench on November 6, 2012, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Michael Hunter.

The 10th Judicial Circuit encompasses Hardee County, Highlands County, and Polk County. Sites has held assignments in Polk County, presiding over cases in the Felony Division and the Civil Division.

Sites earned a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in 1984. He then completed a J.D. at Samford University, Cumberland School of Law, in 1987.

After graduating from law school, Sites worked as a lawyer in several local government and state positions until he opened his own firm in 1992. His practice was based in Lakeland, where he handled both civil and criminal litigation.
