Judge Amy Corrigall Jones - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Amy Corrigall Jones is a judge for the General Division of the Summit County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Kasich in 2012.

Jones was instrumental in creating the Summit County Valor Court in 2013 and the Summit County Offender Recidivism Reduction Project in 2019. She has also served as the Presiding Judge of the Summit County Court of Common Pleas as well as the Administrative Judge of the General Division.

Prior to her appointment, Jones was a managing partner at Corrigall & Jones, a position she held from 2006 to 2012. She represented clients in both criminal defense matters and personal injury litigation. Jones also served as a Guardian Ad Litem for children, an Advocate for the mentally ill, and a Guardian for incompetent adults.

Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kent State University. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Akron School of Law. She was admitted to the Ohio State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

Her memberships have included the Akron Bar Association, the Portage County Bar Association, and the Public Defender Commission. She also served as president of Dapper Dan Charities of Akron.

She is registered as a Republican.
