Judge Blaine S. Goode: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Blaine S. Goode is a judge for the Jefferson County Superior Court in Indiana. He was elected to the bench in 2020.

Goode has presided over the Jefferson County Drug Court.

Prior to his election, he was a chief deputy prosecutor with the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office, having served in that capacity since 2018. Before that, Goode was a chief deputy prosecutor in Washington County (2003 to 2017).

He received a B.S. in criminology from Indiana State University in 1991. Goode then served as a police officer for the Columbus Police Department (1993 to 1995) and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department (1995 to 2000) before completing a J.D. at the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2001. He was admitted to practice in Indiana in 2002.

After graduating from law school, Goode began his legal career as an associate in the Allen Law Office, though his time there was brief (2002).

He is registered as a Republican.
