Judge Christopher A. Buckley: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Christopher A. Buckley is a judge for the Porter County Superior Court in Indiana. He was elected to the bench on November 3, 2020.

Prior to his election, Buckley was of counsel to the McEuen Law Office, a law firm he joined in 2018. He has handled family law and real estate matters, specializing in property taxation cases. Before that, he spent time as of counsel to Schwerd, Fryman & Torrenga (2014 to 2018) and Gordon Etzler & Associates (2010 to 2014), supplementing his practice with service as a judge for the Lowell Town Court (2016 to 2020).

Buckley earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Valparaiso University in 2006. He then completed a J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law in 2009. As a law student, he interned at Austgen, Kuiper & Associates (2007 to 2008), the Porter County Superior Court (2008), and the City of South Bend Legal Department (2009).

After graduating from law school, Buckley began his legal career as a law clerk at Wartman, Conover, Fox & Hedges. He worked in that capacity until 2010, at which time he became an attorney at Wartman, Fox & Buckley.

His memberships have included the Porter County Bar Association.

Born in Valparaiso, Indiana, Buckley was raised in Portage, where he attended Chesterton High School. He and his wife, Dr. Sarah Polito (D.O.), have three children.
