Judge Jeffrey P. Medler - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Jeffrey P. Medler is an associate judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit Court (Division 37) of Missouri. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Mike Parson in October 2020, filling the vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. John R. Essner (deceased).

The 21st Judicial Circuit includes St. Louis County.

Prior to his appointment, Medler was the founding partner at Medler & Roither, LLC (2004 to 2018), which later became Medler Karsten & Bridges, LLC (2018 to 2020). His areas of practice included domestic, criminal, civil litigation, and estate planning. In addition to his practice, Medler served as an appointed Guardian ad Litem, representing children in domestic and family law matters.

He received a B.A. in economics and philosophy from Boston College in 1991. Medler went on to complete a J.D. at Saint Louis University School of Law in 1994.

He was admitted to practice in Missouri (1994) and Illinois (1996).

Medler was named Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year by the St. Louis County Bar Association in 2004.

He and his family reside in St. Louis County.
