Judge Patricia Baca Bennett: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Patricia Baca Bennett is a judge for the 360th (Family) District Court in Tarrant County, Texas. She was elected to the bench in 2016 and re-elected in 2020.

Prior to her election, Bennett worked as an attorney in private practice, where she specialized in family law matters.

Bennett earned a B.A. in political science and government from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1989. Then, in 1993, she completed a J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law. As a law student, Bennett was a writer and editorial board member for The Texas Lawyer.

She is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Bennett attended Southwest High School and St. Andrews Catholic School. She and her husband have two children. They reside in Mansfield and attend St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Bennett is registered as a Republican. She identifies as a constitutional conservative.
