Judge Peter J. Corrigan - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Peter J. Corrigan is a judge for the General Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. He was initially elected to the bench on November 2, 2004.

The Ohio Supreme Court publicly reprimanded Corrigan in 2014. The reprimand came after his conviction for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and impeding the roadway.

Corrigan earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University in 1986. He spent the next several years working as a claims representative for Aetna Casualty & Surety Company before completing a J.D. at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1995.

After graduating from law school, Corrigan joined the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office as an assistant prosecuting attorney. During his tenure there, he held assignments in the Major Trial Unit.
