Judge Valerie Adair - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Valerie Adair (Ret.) was a judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada. She joined the bench in 2003 and was retained in 2002 and 2014. Her term ended in January 2021.

Adair received a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. She went on to earn a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Prior to assuming the bench, she was a deputy district attorney with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office beginning in 1990. While there, Adair held an assignment in the Criminal Division and later became the chief deputy district attorney for the Fraud Unit.

She also served a stint as a private practice attorney in Los Angeles, California.
